Lyman Falls Removal Underway!

Portions of the concrete, timber, and metal dam remnants at Lyman Falls that are a hazard for paddlers are in the process of being removed. This work will continue through early September.

Be alert for heavy equipment operation in the river and along the access road! At times, public access will be limited for your safety. Walk-in access will remain open on Vermont side.If you are planning to paddle through through: plan to portage around the work area/site. Land on river left and portage along the island. There will be also be a gap open for the water and paddlers among the sand bags and a temporary wood bridge. However, do not try to go under the bridge, or ends up there by mistake. It won’t be high enough above the water for boats!

The middle concrete slab will remain, helping to maintain the pool below the dam. Boulders will be placed above the concrete to help protect the remnants from further degradation.Be alert for heavy equipment operation in the river and along the access road! At times, public access will be limited for your safety. Walk-in access will remain open on Vermont side.
